Quick DIY Eyelash Extensions
DIY fashion has become a popular choice over the last few years, as it helps cut costs and time, and also gives you the freedom to try new things at your own leisure. Among the DIY fashion trends is the use of eyelash extensions. These are a semi-permanent replacement for fake lashes, and are simple enough to do in your own home.
Firstly, choose the set of eyelashes that appeal to you. There are many different brands of false and semi-permanent eyelashes and extemsions on the market. There are eyelashes that will darken or thicken yours, and all types of styles. Purchase the eyelash glue along with the eyelashes.
Once you have decided on a product, apply a thin layer of eyelash glue to a cotton bud. Take the bud and apply the glue to the false eyelash. The layer of glue should be very thin so that excess eyelash glue doesn’t get onto your eyelid. Allow the eyelash glue to set before placing it on the edge of the eyelid.
Apply the false eyelash to your eye gently. Your eyelids should be free of make-up. Do the same thing for the other eye. Placing a line of eyeliner to the eye prior to putting on the eyelash extension on can provide for a target area where the eyelash should be placed. Add any colour. The colour of the mascara usually depends on the type of event and the outfit that is to be worn for the night.
Be careful when removing false eyelashes. Don’t for any sleep in the false eyelashes or extensions for any reason as you may be pulling off your actual lashes if you’ve slept in them all night. Use a dab of make-up remover on a cotton ball and dab a little on the base of the eyelashes. Gently pull off the eyelash extensions, one eye at a time. If you’re going to use them again, clean the eyelash extensions with a little make-up remover to remove the glue. Clean them thoroughly to provide a better use next time around.
