How to get rid of Acne!

Every teenager knows that acne is something to be avoided. After all, the skin is one of the most important aspects of ones appearance, and even more importantly, an organ. Taking care of their skin is something that many people take for granted, but it is, in fact, an important thing to do, not only for your appearance, but for hygiene purposes too. Here are a few tips on how to maintain healthy skin and avoid that dreaded acne outbreak (which can affect anyone at any age, not just teenagers):
1. Keep your hands off of your face – Your hands are the area of your body most likely to carry dirt and germs, as they are your main source of social interaction. While most of us are not aware of just how much we actually touch our faces, there is a significant link between the two. When dirt is applied to the face, the pores get clogged up and the dirt gets mixed with oil, water and dead skin that is pushed out by the body. This is what ultimately causes acne to appear.
2. Keep your face clean – Take some time out of your day and make a habit of washing your face and neck twice a day. This will help you maintain clean pores and remove any excess dirt and dead skin from the area.
3. Work out regularly – Exercise and other forms of stress relief help maintain healthy hormone levels. Maintaining your hormones help reduce oil excretion, and also allows for the body to oxidize itself, which also helps promote healthy skin. Sweating during exercise also helps clear the pores of excess dirt and bacteria.
4. Use Bonzoyl Peroxide – Many people have had success with Benzoyl Peroxide, as it helps reduce inflammation of infected pores and also kills the acne causing bacteria. There are prescription doses available, as well as over the counter products. Visit your local pharmacists for advice on which product will best suit your needs.
5. Minimize the use of makeup – Regular use of makeup clogs pores with chemicals and blocks the dead skin and excess oils from escaping your body. If you must use makeup on a regular basis, make sure that you use as little as possible, look for oil-free brands and make sure to thoroughly wash off the product when you’re done.
There are many other solutions to acne outbreaks, many of which involve various chemical or laser treatments. However, it is recommended that you consult a professional before making any decisions regarding chemical or any other possibly risky solutions.
